PACT with hanover

hanover has been retained by Pact, the trade association representing the commercial interests of independent feature film, television, digital, children's and animation media companies.

Pact has appointed hanover to support its influencing activity around the scoping exercise for the next Communications Bill. The independent sector generates revenues of £2.3bn, with its exports of £590m worth more than the whole sector prior to the Terms of Trade introduction in the 2003 Communications Act.

hanover will provide Pact with strategic counsel and a targeted stakeholder engagement programme to build understanding of independent sector’s contribution to economic growth, exports and cultural benefit.

John McVay, Chief Executive of Pact said:
“We believe that hanover offers Pact valuable expertise as we progress with our key messages to Government. Over the coming months , as we examine the scope of the next Communications Act a constructive and effective dialogue with Govt will be crucial and Pact with hanover’s assistance will ensure that the interests of one of the UK’s most successful sectors is listened to and understood.”

James Gurling, Director at hanover commented:
“We are delighted to have been chosen by Pact to provide their public affairs support. At a time when growth is at the top of the political agenda Pact represents a sector where the UK leads the world. With the government looking to reform the communications framework it is essential that policy makers recognise the measures that have enabled this sector to act as an engine of growth, jobs and exports.”
