25 November 2009: In the lead-up to the election, the British Film Institute (BFI) and hanover celebrated 75 years since the first British party political broadcast went on air. The invited audience was shown a short film of party election broadcasts throughout the ages, including previously unseen footage, some much-loved classics and interviews with Neil Kinnock, Michael Heseltine and Charles Kennedy.
