Teachers TV

Teachers TV has been a hanover client since launch in 2005. Funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, the website and channel are designed to deliver affordable training to the education workforce. We have worked to raise Teachers TV's profile generally; aiming to reach teachers in their 'real lives' through the mainstream national and regional media.

Utilising Teachers TV's engaged network of members, hanover supported a range of activity in 2008/9 which together generated over 70 national and over 250 regional hits. All proactive media activity focused on specific programme highlights. To evaluate the impact news coverage had on Teachers TV users, the number of downloads from the website during featured weeks was compared to downloads from an average week on Teachers TV. On average individual views or downloads from the website increased by 28% in weeks supported by publicised research. Coverage also kept registrations buoyant, for example, there were over 500 new registrations on a single day following publication of a poll on the teaching of evolution.
