8 Jan 2020

With 2019 now behind us and most planning now confirmed for the coming year, we look ahead to what’s in store for 2020.

First up? The World Economic Forum at Davos…and only two weeks away. Barely settled at your desk, barely familiar with what you’ve promised your executive team and you’re packing your bags for a few days in a small town in Switzerland.

Prepare to be cold, prepare to be tired, prepare to meet a lot of people and prepare to be the face of your brand.

You probably have meetings in your diary, from morning to late, with the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to help shape the global, regional and industry agendas for the year ahead. But how do you ensure your priority becomes top of their agenda? How do you ensure you’re showing up as the business they want to partner with and not just another one of the other hundreds of companies in attendance?

Davos this year is likely to be particularly provocative, with every business tussling for the top spot and sharing their solution to the increasing state of crisis we seem to find ourselves in – economic, political, environmental, you name it.

That’s a lot of noise. But there are also a lot of articles and wrap-up events during and following Davos to soak up that noise. It’s important that you’re included in these, as well as able to confirm that your priority for 2020 is now firmly on the agenda of other business’ and their plans for the year ahead.

How do you ensure you’re showing up as the business they want to partner with and not just another one of the other hundreds of businesses in attendance?

Davos is the foremost creative force, corralling the world’s top leaders to collaborate. Your narrative not only needs to be engaging, but it needs to be watertight, your public profile needs to actively encourage businesses impressed by you to collaborate with you and more importantly of all, you need to go, confident that you are showing up the best you possibly can for you and for your business.

Are you certain you will be unforgettable to the leaders that count, and to the businesses that can make a difference? Are you truly set up to go into the new year to exceed your goals in 2020?

You need to have a plan behind you that will help you stand out from the crowd, whether through tweaking your narrative or adapting your social profile so you’re creating the right first impression. Davos is about relationships, of course, but the team behind that first impression can be what seals the deal. Making sure you’re confident in landing what needs to be delivered, or that you have a support team drafting relevant content for your owned channels during Davos 2020.

If you’re wondering whether you’re set up for success, or if you’d like to put the question to us, even for an exploratory call, get in touch and we will ensure you’re set up as best you can be, with your narrative and your presence empowering others to want to be a part of what you’re offering.
