Hanover

Thinking about a career in Public Affairs? Advocacy Account Executive Luke Davies gives us the inside scoop on his experiences so far.

What were you doing before joining Hanover?’

Prior to joining Hanover’s internship scheme, I had just graduated from university with a degree in Politics and International Relations. Throughout my degree, I also gained experience with other public affairs agencies and in an MPs office.

Can you tell us what your average day at Hanover is like?

It sounds cliché, but it’s true – no day is the same. My core responsibilities day-to-day are ensuring clients are up to date with the latest movements from Government, drafting intelligence reports for clients and organising Parliamentary events, but you never really know what the day will hold!

How did you find the interview process?

The interview process did a great job of ensuring I had a good idea of what my day-to-day role would be, and clearly set out the benefits of working at Hanover. Everyone was lovely throughout the process and it was clear they wanted to get to know me as much as I wanted to get to know Hanover!

What is your favourite thing about Hanover?

For me, the best thing about Hanover is the people. I did not expect a workplace to be so close-knit prior to joining, and have been pleased that this culture has remained strong throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you had to sum Hanover up in three words, what would you say?

Challenging, rewarding, welcoming
