To ensure a message reaches every stakeholder, it’s necessary to span a diverse set of communications channels. An integrated approach is the most effective way to achieve this. Whether what’s needed is expertise, external perspective, or extra capacity, we plug into existing communication activities to act as a powerful ally.
Hanover’s integrated approach was exactly what we needed. By anticipating change, rather than just responding to events, they helped us navigate a complex landscape and delivered an outstanding launch.
Flood Re is an innovative re-insurance scheme that was jointly created by the insurance industry and government to improve access to more affordable home insurance cover for people in flood-prone parts of the UK. We were hired to provide strategic counsel, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Digital Strategy, and Media Relations.
We built industry and political relationships with a focus on securing Parliamentary approval for Flood Re and ran its press office, enhancing its profile through proactive engagement with politicians and the media. We also initiated and promoted consumer-focused campaigns as well as managing corporate issues, such as the transition to a new CEO, promoting the Scheme’s one-year anniversary and the release of Flood Re’s annual report.
Parliamentary approval for Flood Re was granted and we made a huge media impact around the launch. We secured blanket national broadcast coverage from 6am to 10.30pm, complemented by 240 pieces of print and online coverage. Our support helped Flood Re to make a strong impression, backing nearly 130,000 insurance policies for people in flood prone areas in its first year.
