Hanover is looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic candidate to join as a Research & Insights Intern for 12-weeks. This is an exciting opportunity if you are looking to break into the world of communications with a focus on research and insight strategy. The role will provide you with first-hand experience in an award-winning consultancy.

As part of the newly created strategy insight and research function at Hanover, you will be instrumental in undertaking qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis to inform communications strategies across a broad range of sectors, including financial services, food & drink, energy and healthcare.

The Research & Insights Intern responsibilities will include:

  • Data analysis and desk-based research
  • Support the senior team with qualitative and quantitative research to inform communications strategies across sectors
  • Assist with the design and delivery of questionnaires
  • Support work on data visualisation


The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • A high level of proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrable experience providing qualitative and quantitative research to a high standard
  • An understanding or experience of data analysis tools is desirable
  • An interest in corporate communications and public affairs
  • An analytical mind with excellent research capabilities
  • Accuracy and close attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong personal time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate effectively and collaboratively as part of a growing team


The internship is paid at a competitive rate and for a 12-week contract, with the potential to extend. Core office hours are 9.30 – 17.30 (with an hour for lunch) Monday to Friday.
