Hanover’s healthcare communications team, Hanover Health International, is looking for an Account Director to join the team.

Hanover Health International has expertise in product PR, patient advocacy, corporate communications and media relations.

PR Week lists us in the top 10 healthcare agencies in the UK and in 2017 we were named the EMEA Specialist Consultancy of the Year by the Holmes Report. We are looking for an Account Director to help build on our significant growth and join our team.

The team work across a number of exciting therapy areas including: neuroscience, immunology and pain. Our UK and international healthcare clients include: Roche, Lilly, Celltrion Healthcare, CMR Surgical and UCB.

Role Overview

We are looking for an individual with experience working in healthcare PR, including for the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will lead client accounts and new business activity.

Experience in product PR for large pharmaceutical companies, including launching new medicines, data communications, disease awareness programmes and knowledge of the regulations surrounding healthcare communications would be highly beneficial.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice to clients, informed by in-depth industry knowledge
  • Deliver standout communications programmes and effective team management
  • Develop close client relationships and be the first point of contact across client accounts
  • Drive new business activities including lead proposal development, marketing and pipeline management
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell services between Hanover teams and offices in Brussels, Dublin and the Middle East
  • Mentor junior team members to support their personal and professional development

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and prior experience of healthcare/pharmaceutical PR, both product and corporate
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time, project and financial management ability
  • Client focused with close attention to detail
  • Familiarity with relevant media (print, broadcast and digital)
  • Proactive and experienced in developing new business
