Hanover’s healthcare communications team, Hanover Health International, is looking for a Consultant to join the team.

Hanover Health International has expertise in product PR, patient advocacy, corporate communications and media relations.

PR Week lists us in the top 10 healthcare agencies in the UK and in 2017 we were named the EMEA Specialist Consultancy of the Year by the Holmes Report. We are looking for a Consultant (Account Manager) to help build on our significant growth and join our team.

The team work across a number of exciting therapy areas including: neuroscience, immunology and pain. Our UK and international healthcare clients include: Roche, Lilly, Celltrion Healthcare, CMR Surgical and UCB.

Role Overview

We are looking for prior experience working in healthcare PR, including for the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will manage client accounts across our healthcare team and will be involved in new business development.

Experience in product PR for large pharmaceutical companies, including launching new medicines, data communications, disease awareness programmes and knowledge of the regulations surrounding healthcare communications would be highly beneficial.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Staying abreast of the media, identifying opportunities for coverage and issues that require sensitive management
  • Maintaining relationships with journalists, patient groups, KOLs and other key stakeholders
  • Translating science stories for the public, healthcare professionals and patients
  • Finding creative ways to sell in stories to print and broadcast journalists
  • Leveraging digital and social media channels
  • Managing media and stakeholder events
  • Actively participating in client meetings and ensuring prompt and accurate follow up
  • Managing projects against agreed timelines and budgets
  • Drafting high quality, ‘right first time’ materials for client review
  • Contributing creatively towards new business pitches as part of the presentation team
  • Developing/mentoring junior team members
  • Managing external resources

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of healthcare/pharmaceutical PR, both product and corporate
  • Strong written and oral communications
  • Effective time, project and financial management
  • Client focused with close attention to detail
  • Familiarity with relevant media (print, broadcast and digital)
  • Curiosity about the news and industry environment
  • Relevant and demonstrable vendor management experience
  • Experience coordinating account teams and managing junior members
