Hanover

25 May 2016

We are proud to announce that Hanover Communications has won the Holmes Report 2016 EMEA Public Affairs Agency of the Year award.

The shortlist was comprised of 5 agencies selected following an exhaustive research process involving more than 200 submissions and face-to-face meetings with the best PR firms across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The judging panel praised Hanover for consistent innovation in client services both in London and Brussels, significant client wins over the past year and strong growth figures.

In addition to this, Hanover is now among top 30 communications agencies in the UK and top 150 agencies globally.

With an impressive 23% organic growth in 2015, and 85% over the last three years, the agency is on track to deliver its ambitious five-year business plan to double the size of the company by 2018.

This performance has propelled Hanover into the top 30 of PRWeek’s Top 150 PR Consultancies 2016 list, moving up seven positions from 36 last year to 29, with its Public Affairs practice named 2nd in the UK. The agency’s Healthcare offering, which added Brand Communications to its capabilities in 2015, has moved up to number 8, as well as being shortlisted  for three Communique Awards for their campaign work.

Globally, Hanover is even closer to the top 100 biggest agencies at number 113, according to the recent Holmes Report figures.

The company mission is to become the dominant independent player in Europe by 2018, with a commitment to innovation, excellence in client services, and ongoing investment in people, brand and creativity.

Last year, Hanover created five new practice areas, including sport, cybersecurity and healthcare communications, and won new global clients such as Celltrion, De Beers and The Asian Football Confederation. Existing client relationships were also scaled to create a portfolio of sizeable multi-disciplinary accounts such as Lucozade Ribena Suntory, Sky, Tata Steel and Shire.

In addition to agency innovation, Hanover expanded its global reach in 2015 by creating The Ecosystem, an independent network of the leading corporate communications, public affairs and healthcare agencies in Europe, Latin America, Africa and North America. Ecosystem partners also had a strong showing in global agency rankings this year with SPN Communications (Russia) at 72, Atrevia (Iberia and Latin America) at 93, Powerscourt (UK and Ireland) at 150, Thomas Marko & Associes (France) at 172, Narva (the Nordics) at 237 and akkanto (Belgium) at 237.

Founder Charles Lewington said: “Being named one of the best consultancies in Europe at the SABRE Awards is an astonishing achievement for Hanover’s team and clients. Our recent figures are a testament to Hanover’s strength in traditional areas such as healthcare, financial services, energy and FMCG, as well as creation of new service offerings that meet the changing needs of our clients. I recognise that in the age of challenged budgets, our long-term growth strategy will only be sustained by innovation, investment in great people, strident brand positioning and smart cross-sector acquisitions to futureproof the agency’s offerings.”
