Hanover was awarded the title of Global Public Affairs Agency of the Year at the SABRE Awards last night in Miami.
Hosted by the leading industry observer The Holmes Report, the Global SABRE Awards recognises superior achievement in communications and is considered one of the most prestigious PR awards programmes. The 2017 Global Agencies of the Year shortlist was the result of an exhaustive research process involving more than 400 submissions and face-to-face meetings with the best PR firms across North America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific.
The judges commended Hanover’s stellar financial performance and its third consecutive year of 20%+ growth, its robust client roster and notable hires in 2017, including former Director of Corporate Affairs at BT Michael Prescott, who joined the firm in April 2017 as Group Managing Director, Corporate and Political Strategy.
They also highlighted Hanover’s growing reach and global capabilities, noting that much of the agency’s rapid growth came from the high-performing Healthcare practice, which was awarded EMEA Healthcare Agency of the Year at the EMEA SABREs in London earlier this year. Hanover’s geographic reach now includes offices in Dubai and Dublin, both contributing to the strong public affairs and corporate communications work that has become Hanover’s flagship service offering across EMEA. In London, its Advocacy team further solidified its position as the market leader with client wins from Tesco, Facebook and Viacom; whilst the fast-growing Brussels operation added Apple, Liberty Global and WME/IMG.
Accepting the award in Miami, Hanover’s CEO and founder Charles Lewington said: “This is a terrific achievement for our teams across London, Brussels, Dublin and Dubai, who demonstrate every day that commitment to excellence, deep sector expertise and a trail-blazing attitude can bring an independent agency global recognition.”
