Hanover Communications is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Burr as Director of European Digital Policy. This newly-created role will support the firm’s growing digital policy operations across London, Dublin and Brussels.
Mark joins Hanover from News UK, where he managed political relationships and policy development in London and Brussels for one of Europe’s largest media companies. He worked across News UK and News Corp’s businesses for five years.
Prior to that, he headed up the public affairs function for a publishing trade association, where he led the industry responses to a wide-range of media policies. His expertise spans media and broadcast regulation, publishing, copyright and intellectual property.
Hanover’s growing portfolio of technology clients in the EMEA region includes Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Sky, Three and Viacom.
Mark Burr said: “This is going to be a critical year, not just for politics, but also for our clients, particularly in the tech and media space. I’m thrilled to work alongside the most talented team in the industry and on behalf of an exciting roster of clients.”
Charles Lewington, CEO of Hanover, said: “These are uncertain times, particularly in the political arena. Mark’s appointment will strengthen the tech policy advisory services we offer, harnessing and bolstering the knowledge across our EMEA teams. On top of that, his ability to provide elegant lateral solutions to problems makes him a great fit with Hanover’s ethos of employing ‘uncommon sense’ in everything we do.”
