Hanover Communications is fortifying its Middle East operations with the appointment of Simone Elviss as Director of Healthcare, as part of the company’s ambitious growth plans. Simone’s appointment will see the launch of Hanover Health in the thriving UAE market.
With over ten years’ experience across the UK and UAE, she joins Hanover from Edelman UAE, where she led the health team. At Hanover, she joins an award-winning team of specialists in product and corporate communications, policy and market access.
Simone brings with her experience from working with a range of healthcare businesses, from start-ups and growth companies to large international groups. She has led large accounts in the pharmaceutical industry such as Janssen, Novo Nordisk and Shire, along with healthcare service providers such as Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Her wide range of clients has given her experience in a breadth of therapeutic areas, including diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, oncology, influenza, inflammatory bowel disease, regenerative medicine, mental health and surgical procedures.
Simone’s appointment is a distinctive one for the growing team and comes at an exciting period in the evolution of Hanover Health. With clients including more than half of the world’s top 20 global pharmaceutical companies, in addition to healthcare providers and fast-growing health technology businesses, the team is seeing a demand from clients to expand their UAE offering as well as developing new opportunities to demonstrate their healthcare knowledge and expertise in the region.
“The healthcare industry in the UAE and wider region is thriving, driven by powerful ambition and significant investment to meet the needs of the growing population – making it an incredibly exciting market to work in,” says Simone. “Hanover Health has a fantastic track record of smart, strategic work rooted in deep expertise from communications to market access, and I am thrilled to be joining the team as we expand the healthcare footprint to the Middle East.”
“Simone joins Hanover at an important time, as the team expands and strengthens its operations in the Gulf,” comments Jonty Summers, Managing Director of Hanover Middle East. “Her ability to provide C-suite counsel and lead the delivery of major communications programmes made her a natural fit for the role and her wide-ranging expertise in corporate, financial and healthcare communications will play a crucial part in our Middle East operations. We’re delighted to have her join the team as we continue to develop our offering for clients across the region.”
