Michael specialises in providing public affairs and political advice to Hanover’s clients in the TMT sector.
Prior to joining Hanover, Michael was Public Affairs Manager at the Advertising Association, representing the tripartite of the advertising industry – media owners, advertisers and agencies. This included working on major regulatory issues around Brexit, data protection, trade and exports, and advertising to children. He particularly focused on food and drink advertising, managing the Association’s Food Advertising Unit. He also developed and ran proactive and positive campaigns on the economic and social value that advertising – and the wider advertising ecosystem – brings to the UK. This included delivering successful parliamentary receptions and engagement programmes to raise awareness of the industry amongst MPs and the devolved administrations.
Before joining the AA, Michael spent a number of years working for a Conservative MP and at the Policy Research Unit, a not-for-profit research facility for Conservative MPs in the House of Commons, where he specialised in DCMS, Education and Home Affairs policy, working closely with MPs, Government departments and other stakeholders to develop and communicate policy in Parliament.
